We are looking for a highly-motivated aviation specialist who wants to work on the cutting edge of aviation and lead the application of regulatory change in an entirely new domain.

You will be responsible for the stewardship of safety and regulatory standards and developing fit-for-purpose systems for our client.

This will involve utilising your expertise, engaging with domestic and international organisations, and coming up with entirely new flight operations assurance for our clients.
Delivery of highly personalised core advisory, assurance and aviation advisory services.
  • Create, maintain and update high-quality manuals, procedures and other documents that comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Drive cross-functional engagement with subject-matter experts for review and approval of documentation.
  • Setting and communicating program strategies, objectives and priorities
  • Continuous improvement of client our processes, safety protocols, hardware and software, to make operations easier and more efficient.
  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement with our clients and across our organisation.
  • A collaborative attitude.
  • Relevant bachelor degree (or higher) in an aviation related field.
  • Significant experience in aerospace consulting.
  • Analytical approach, problem solving skills and high attention to detail.

The Lead Remote Pilot will have the opportunity to accomplish new milestones in the aviation industry, through comprehensive technical feedback for experimental aircraft and helping to deliver the objectives of the Flight Operations department.

Working with the Chief remote pilot in flight duties, the Lead Pilot will gather flight data in VLOS, BVLOS, and in 'proof of concept operations’.  These activities will assist in the creation of key outcomes and viable remotely piloted aircraft networks for our clients.

Nurturing effective relationships with colleagues within a small and agile team is very important.

This position will require regional and interstate travel.

  • Serve as Lead Pilot for a variety of UAV
  • Assist with technical analysis and reports
  • Participate in reviews of Flight Data and Human Factors
  • Assist in the Development of   procedures for UAV operations
  • Be the lead pilot in a multi-crew environment
  • Review and contribute to Pilot Operating Handbooks, related guidance documents etc
  • Must be able to work in a high stress environment when required

Needless to say, teamworking, communication skills and a safety first mindset are critical.

  • Commercial Pilot Licence
    • <25kg RePL or equivalent (such as Part 107 licence) preferable
  • Instrument Rating
  • Be able to hold an Australian ASIC card
  • Knowledge of Australian (CASA) and global (ICAO) regulatory developments
  • Knowledge of the UAS Implementing Regulations and framework for the safe operation of UAS within the Open, Specific and Certified Category
  • Be independent and motivated; able to self‐direct and manage time effectively
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred qualifications

  • Willingness to work shifts with occasional extended duty (within CAO 48)
  • Outback flight experience
  • Instructor rating
